New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge spoke to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday to stress the need for opposition unity against the BJP ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The AAP convenor received a summons from the CBI yesterday in the Delhi excise policy scam investigation. He is expected to appear for interrogation on Sunday. He was called as a witness after his former deputy Manish Sisodia was arrested last month.

Congress has been calling for all like-minded parties to come together against the BJP. The party is also hosting a meeting of senior leaders of various parties in a few days to discuss what the future will look like. Kharge has already met with and spoken to several opposition leaders.

In the meetings during the recent Budget session of Parliament, AAP leader Sanjay Singh attended. The parties have not yet announced any official alliances.
