Guwahati: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that if his party comes to power in Assam, all youths will get jobs and the state will have free electricity.

Speaking at a rally in Guwahati, he claimed that the AAP government has changed the face of Delhi in seven years and Assam only had "nothing but dirty politics". He pointed out that the BJP has been in power in Assam for the same duration that AAP has been in power in the capital city.

"AAP came to power in Delhi in 2015 and the BJP here in 2016. Today, we have changed the face of Delhi. What has Himanta babu (Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma) done for the state in seven years? Nothing, only dirty politics," said the Delhi CM.

He also highlighted that AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab are providing free electricity to people. If the party forms a government in Assam, the same will happen. He also promised to solve the unemployment problem in the state and create jobs for youth. He noted that AAP has given employment to 12 lakh people in Delhi in seven years and 28,000 people in one year in Punjab.

He promised that if AAP is voted into power in Assam, all households in the state will have piped water within one year.

"The Congress ruled Assam for 52 years since 75 years of India’s Independence while the BJP has been in power for the past seven years. People of Assam have given opportunities to all the parties but no development has taken place in the state. Any party that came to power in Assam has betrayed and duped the people," he further alleged.

A few days ago, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa said that he will sue for defamation if Kejriwal accuses him of corruption outside the assembly. He also said that Kejriwal was a coward for speaking about corruption inside the assembly. Responding to the threat, the AAP chief today said that such threats are "unbecoming of a chief minister."

He, right after landing at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, said that the people of Assam are very good and they welcome their guests. "Himanta Biswa Sarma should learn from them." He also said, "Seeing the energy of the people of Assam, it seems as if Himanta Babu's government will be uprooted today itself."

Responding to the threatening attitude of Sarma, Kejriwal also invited the BJP leader for tea and lunch at his home in Delhi.
