New Delhi: Top Congress leadership on Saturday held separate meetings to review the party's performance in the Rajasthan and Mizoram assembly polls, conveying the message that accountability will be fixed as they gear up the organisation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge convened the review meeting at the All India Congress Committee headquarters in Delhi where former party chief Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders including General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra and CWC member Jitendra Singh were also present.

“The vote share difference between Congress and BJP was very less. In many seats, Congress candidates lost by very few votes,” Randhawa told reporters after the meeting.

Asked whether there will be changes in leadership, he asked what is the need for changes when the party has not done badly. At the same time when queried whether accountability will be fixed, he said, “accountability will be fixed.”

While the review meeting for Mizoram was held earlier, the leaders from Rajasthan including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other senior leaders attended the review meeting for Rajasthan.

AICC in-charge for Mizoram Bhakt Charan Das later said, "We discussed every aspect of the Mizoram election, including the organizational structure of the state at the grassroots level and state level, as well as the various events that occurred during the elections." "We also deliberated on our future plans. All these matters were carefully and intensively discussed," he said.
