text_fieldsKolar: A BJP-organized protest in Kolar against the Congress government in Karnataka was met with an attack by a swarm of honey bees, creating a stampede-like situation and causing chaos that left many injured.
According to a report, over 500 protestors, including BJP leaders and an MP, were injured in the incident, a video of which has gone viral on social media, showing people running for shelter from the bee attacks.
The demonstration, organized by the BJP Raitha Morcha, was staged in front of the deputy commissioner's office in Kolar. The protesters had gathered to voice their discontent with the Congress-led state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
As the demonstration gained momentum, chaos erupted when the bees descended upon the agitated crowd. The disturbing incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media platforms. In the footage, the protesters can be seen shouting slogans against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah just before the bee attack.
It is believed that the bees were agitated by the noise generated by the protesters during their demonstration. Panic swept through the crowd as people fled in all directions to escape the relentless swarm of bees.
The public who had arrived at the District Collector's office for various other purposes were also caught in the chaos. They too had to make hasty escapes as the bees wreaked havoc, adding to the overall sense of turmoil.
Several individuals sustained injuries during the bee attack, including BJP MP S Muniswamy. The injured were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
According to the BJP's allegations, Congress supporters threw stones at bee hives located on the ceiling of the administration building in a bid to disrupt the BJP protest.
