Bihar MLA in underwear was a drunk, harasser on train: Co-passenger
text_fieldsPatna: A fellow passenger has lodged a complaint against Bihar MLA Gopal Mandal for harassing him during a train journey. The politician was already under fire for walking around the train without proper clothing.
The passenger, Prahlamnd Paswan, said in the complaint that the MLA was drunk when he was roaming the coach in a white vest and underwear. "When I confronted Mr Mandal, he snatched my gold ring and chan, and misbehaved with me," reported NDTV.
MLA Gopal Mandal belongs to Bihar Chief Minister's party, JDU.
The incident took place in the AC First Class compartment of Patna-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express. The complaint was lodged at a Government Railway Police station in Delhi. The Delhi police transferred the case to Bihiya GRP near Arrah in Delhi for further investigation.
A video of MLA Mandal had gone viral on social media. He blamed an upset stomach for his inappropriate clothing choice. "I was in an underwear and vest. I had just boarded the train and had an upset stomach. I do not lie," said the representative of Gopalpur in the Bhagalpur district.
The MLA added that a man stopped him and questioned about the clothes. "I shoved him away and after relieving myself I confronted him." He denied allegations that his attire made female passengers uncomfortable and said there were no women in the compartment.
