Mayiladuthurai: A gang of fifteen men barged into a home and came out kidnapping a woman in Tamil Nadu's Mayiladuthurai on Tuesday night.

A CCTV camera, apparently fitted at the top of the stairs leading to the street, caught the gang climbing the stairs before breaking down her front gate and barging into her home.

They reportedly threatened her family with knives and other sharp objects before snatching her away.

The woman was however rescued hours later the same night, according to India Today.

After the men carried her away, the other women in the home were seen rushing out seeking help.

Mayiladuthurai Police immediately tracked down the gang on the National Highway, arresting Vigneshwaran and his two associates and rescued the woman.

Reports sourcing the police say that one of the accused Vigneshwaran (34), befriended and stalked her.

The woman reported Vigneshwaran to the Mayiladuthurai Police, who allegedly released him after warning him and took his written statement.

Police began looking for him again after she alerted them about his attempt to kidnap her on July 12.

Vigneshwaran and 14 of his associates, meanwhile, broke into the woman's home and kidnapped her.
