Mammootty-Mohanlal starrer ‘Patriot’ to hit theatres soon?

Entertainment: The much-awaited political thriller 'Patriot', which will feature the Malayalam film industry’s Big Ms Mammootty and Mohanlal together after 18 years, is likely to hit the theatres on April 23. Film sources indicate that the film, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, is set to release during the summer holidays. The teaser, which was released last year, was a big topic of discussion among fans.

'I remember there was a time when they both ruled this country together. During these years, they have not only gained followers but also trust,' the teaser begins with this voice-over. The teaser hints that there is a programme called Periscope in the movie, and Kunchacko Boban is playing the character Daniel.

Although the production company has not officially confirmed it, the film is expected to hit the theatres on April 23. The film's crew shared the news of the completion of the film's shooting on January 4 through social media. Along with Mammootty and Mohanlal, the film has a large star cast including Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, and Revathi. The plot of the film is about the government's move to implement a social score on the people of the country and the fight against it.

This film is being made on the biggest budget in Malayalam to date. The shoot was completed on Friday after more than a year of shooting in more than ten schedules in various countries. It is produced by Anto Joseph and K.G. Anilkumar under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company and Kichappu Films. The film is co-produced by C.R. Salim and Subhash George Manuel under the banners of C.R. Salim Productions and Blue Tigers London.
