Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Jane Fonda said her cancer has relapsed for the third time but she is putting up a brave front. She added that she is undergoing chemotherapy and is feeling very strong in her battle against cancer.

The Golden Globe-winning actress revealed in September that she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Speaking about her experience with chemotherapy, she said she finds it easier than other treatment options because she does not feel nauseous and is not losing hair. "The week when I get the chemo is hard, but then after that, I feel good. I feel very strong," she told People magazine.

The Grace and Frankie star further said she has lived a good, productive, and intentional life. "Dying is part of life. I hope that I can be an example to young people so they won't be afraid of getting older. But you just have to take care of yourself, which I do even now. Even on the days that I get chemo, I still do a workout. It's slow and not what it used to be, but still, I'm moving and keeping strong."

She credits her family for motivating her to continue working as an activist. "It's going to be rough for young people. I just want my young grandchildren to know that grandma did her best."

The actress will turn 85 years old next month and has started celebrations early. Her initiative has raised over $1 million for the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power Potential (GCAPP), the teen pregnancy prevention and adolescent health organisation she founded in 1995.

At the party, several celebrities sent her video messages. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio said: " Happy 85th birthday. You have given so much to the world, and inspired millions of people, and generations of people to become activists and leaders. You have inspired me and so many others. So, this is just to tell you a happy birthday and good health."

Fonda has been at the forefront of activism for several causes including feminist causes, the LGBTQ+ community's welfare, rights of Native Americans, opposition to Israel's occupation in the West Bank, opposition to the Iraq war, and environmental causes over the decades.
