Sahaspur (Uttarakhand): Congress party helped Rohingya Muslims to settle in the mountains of Uttarakhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged on Saturday. In a public meeting here, Shah said that Congress initiated the politics of appeasement, Asian News International reported.

Among the BJP's relentless attacks on Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Shah said that Rohingyas entered Uttarakhand under Congress' leadership, Shah said, adding that if the state elects Pushkar Singh Dhami back to power in the state, the BJP government will wipe Rohingya Muslims out of the state, Shah said. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi does the development of the Char Dham road in the state, Congress approach collectors to give Rohingyas ration card and ID cards, Shah said.

Shah said that the Congress' Harish Rawat, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, had said that he would build a Muslim University in the state. He asked whether any religious activity had been done in the University.

Amit Shah further said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is the fourth generation of the Gandhi family. If each of the generations had done at least one developmental work of each Dham, BJP would have left nothing to do on the project. Congress hadn't done the reconstruction of Badri dam for 70 years, did not build the all-weather road to reach the Char Dham but mentioning it today only for votes, Shah claimed, citing Congress' 'Char Dham Char Kam' slogan.

Amit Shah went on alleging that Congress never cared about national security, but under Modi, no one had dared to threaten the nations borders or soldiers.

Uttarakhand is heading to the polls on February 14 in a single phase. Counting is scheduled for March 10.
