Zilingo founder Ankiti Bose seeks protection from cyber abuse

Singapore-based entrepreneur Ankiti Bose has sought protection against a Twitter user who accessed and shared her photos, chats, and documents without her consent. She was fired last week from the position of CEO of Zilingo, a company she co-founded.

Bose in an Instagram post revealed that her personal photos, chats, documents, and records may have all been improperly accessed and circulated without her consent. She added that she has seen versions of them on the internet. "They are clearly fake but damaging nonetheless".

Bose said she doesn't know who is sharing them and revealed that the Singapore courts have granted her an Expedited Protection Order.

The entrepreneur further said the last seven days have been "extraordinarily difficult". She added that she has received several hate messages and unfounded negative press. "I have tried to let it go and not think about those who write these (negative) blogs. But, I draw the line at rape threats".

Ankiti revealed that she still hasn't seen the complaints on the basis of which she was fired. "I have not seen the report used to terminate me". She added that she has suffered the indignity of being fired by email from the company she founded. The 30-year-old said she is grieving and fighting for herself. She said she feels like her baby has been taken away from her.

Zilingo was founded by Bose and chief technology officer Dhruv Kapoor in 2015. She was placed under suspension on March 31 on the basis of complaints alleging discrepancies in the company accounts.

The allegations and findings of the audit have not yet been elaborated. She was fired last week after an investigation revealed "serious financial irregularities". The co-founder also claimed that the company fired her for lack of cooperation in the investigation rather than the actual alleged financial irregularities.

Bose added that she will keep fighting to clear her name.
