Russia's CoviVac vaccine against Covid-19 is found to be more than 80% effective against COVID, according to preliminary data, Interfax news agency cited the vaccine's developer as saying on Wednesday.
CoviVac, developed by the Chumakov Centre which is an institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is the third COVID-19 vaccine to get approval in Russia.
As the vaccine is proved to be effective, the Chumakov Centre could produce six times more than the previously planned 10 million doses of the vaccine a year, the Interfax report said.
