London: The former Prime Minister of Qatar's charity cash donations to him through proper channels, heir to British throne Prince Charles informed on Sunday. Charles' statement comes after media reports in the UK narrated that he took a suitcase of cash as charity from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani, Arab News reported.

Clarence House issued a statement, and it read, "Charitable donations received from Sheikh bin Jassim were passed immediately to one of the prince's charities, who carried out the appropriate governance and have assured us that all the correct processes were followed."

According to the Sunday Times, Sheikh Hamad gave three bundles of cash as donations to Charles, the Prince of Wales. The cash, which amounted to €3 million ($3.16 million), was personally handed over to Charles between 2011 and 2015, the paper said.

The 62-year-old ex-PM of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad, handed over €1m packed into carrier bags to the presence. This took place at the €1m packed into carrier bags, Sunday Times claimed.

The funds were received by the Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund (PWCF), including an entity that bankrolls the prince's private projects and his country estate in Scotland.
