New Delhi: Nearly half of the democrats who polled a survey wanted Michelle Obama to replace President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s candidate for US president.
Former First Lady of the US emerged as the leading choice in the Rasmussen Reports polls.
About 48% of the Democrats wanted the party to find another candidate ‘to replace Joe Biden before the election in November’, where a 38 percent polled disapproved it.
However, only 33 per cent of Democrats believe in having a ballot shakeup.
Other choices alongside Michelle Obama, who got about 20 percent of votes, were Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Where Kamala Harris bagged about 15 per cent votes, only 12 per cent favoured Hillary Clinton running again against Trump.
The polls comes just as Joe Biden and Trump are emerging as the contenders in a repeat of previous election.
However, many out there are still toying with the idea of having Michelle Obama to run for the presidential election.
Though Biden projects himself to be the qualified candidate, polls suggest his age a dispiriting factor.
