'It was hot': Israel explains on Palestine prisoners in underwear

Gaza: After visuals of hundreds of Palestinians captured from northern Gaza kneeling in the street wearing only their underwear and blindfolded flooded social media, Israel has issued justification for their said act.

Israel justifies its actions while being shamed in front of the international community for its brutal genocide and war crimes.

Media such as BBC and Aljazeera reported that civilians, including students, were arrested in their inner clothing and blindfolded. According to reports, civilians and refugees are captured and tortured in this manner and taken to unknown locations. Various human rights organizations have criticized Israel's treatment of prisoners as shocking and reminiscent of World War II.

Israel decided to issue an explanation after global protests emerged after the footage. Senior advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mark Regev, said that the hostages were kept in their underwear because of the hot weather in the Middle East. He was responding to the questions by journalists in this regard.

He said that one should understand that it is the Middle East and it is hot there, especially during the day when it is sunny. The army just asked to take the prisoners' shirt off, he said.

Meanwhile, Israel released the names of five soldiers killed during the war in Gaza. The attack on October 7 killed one soldier who was being treated for injuries and four soldiers in southern Gaza.

The U.N. said 36 per cent of Gaza's population is in dire straits. Health Department spokesman Ashraf Al-Khudra said that there is not a single safe place in Gaza.
