Gaza: More attacks in Khan Younis; refugees plead for ceasefire

Gaza: Israel rained missiles and air strikes in Rafah, striking three houses and killing at least 20 Palestinians, Reuters reported, citing health officials' statement on Tuesday.

An enormous number of Palestinians are crowding into Rafah, squeezing themselves next to the Egyptian border to save themselves from Israeli strikes. They are in fear that they will not be safe there, too.

On Tuesday, Khan Yonous city residents informed that there were fierce gun fights between Hamas fighters and the Israeli military. The residents of the southern Gaza city said that Israeli tanks and planes bombed areas near the heart of the city.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) informed that the Israeli forces raided Kamal Adwan Hospital, stopped services and evacuated patients, including babies. However, the organisation added that the loss of anymore of hospitals cannot be afforded.

According to WHO, around 4,000 people who were displaced and found shelter on the grounds of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis are under threat as the Israeli military continues operations in the city.

On Monday, the Gaza health ministry said that 19,453 Palestinians were killed and 52,286 wounded after Israel opened an offensive after the October attack by Hamas. The attack had claimed 1,200 Israel's lives, and Hamas took 240 hostages, prompting Israel to retaliate.

The Israel offensive is raising concerns among the international community over the civilian deaths, hunger and homelessness among the Palestinians. Gazans were exhausted and struggling to stay alive, reports Reuters.

A man from Gaza said that money has lost its value and most items are unavailable. They rise from their beds after a night of bombardments, only to tour the streets in search of food. He pleads that he wants the war to be ended, Reuters writes.
