Imran must be stopped before he divides the nation: Pak Prime Minister

Islamabad: It seems there is no stopping the disgruntled Imran Khan in the muddled politics of Pakistan.

Even after his ouster weeks ago, Khan continues to hog the limelight with his rhetorical statements.

Now it is time for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to get back at Imran Khan and he did it on Monday.

Shehbaz Sharif said Khan must be reined in before he divided the nation any further. Sharif alleged Khan was poisoning the minds of the country's masses, leading the country to be further divided.

Addressing the National Assembly he said 'this language' must be stopped according to the Constitution and law.

To a rally in Abbottabad on Sunday,  Khan said more than three million people would be marching to Islamabad on his protest call to the nation after May 20.

Taking a dig at the military leadership for not intervening when he was ousted, he said only animals were neutral.  If somebody is neutral they are supporting falsehood, according to him.

Sharif said Khan's speech referring to Pakistan's national institutions was a betrayal of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly in a resolution condemned Khan's "anti-army" statements in Abbottabad on Sunday.
