British PM to quit for want of money.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is considering leaving office within six months, due to his low salary, compared to his pre-prime ministerial salary, as reported by The Daily Mirror.

Johnson plans to leave his post as soon as both Brexit and the Coronavirus crisis are sorted, apparently in six months. According to some Conservative MPs, the Prime Minister finds his salary disappointing, compared to his predecessor, Theresa May, who has earned above £1 million from her lecture series since she quit PM's office last year. Boris reportedly believes that he could follow the path of his predecessor and fetch double.

The sources told the newspaper that Johnson complained that he struggled to meet both ends with his annual income of £150,402, equivalent to $194,244. His major concern is the educational future of his six-month-old son, which would cost him around £42,500 a year.

It seems Johnson had earned £160,000 by delivering just two speeches in a month before becoming Prime Minister. As a columnist in Daily Telegraph, he also received a fixed income of £23,000 per month, which adds up to £275,000per annum.

Former Prime Minister David Cameron usually asks for £120,000 to give a speech, while his predecessor Tony Blair earns £22 million from lectures and consultancy, the paper says.
