New Delhi: It seems Bangladesh has slipped into complete chaos with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation on Monday.
Footage showed protesters storming into her residence, vandalizing, and looting precious possessions of the fugitive former prime minister.
A photo showed a woman emerging from Hasina’s residence with a luxury Dior suitcase, NDTV reported.
Sharing the photo of the woman holding the luxury travel bag with a smile, journalist Pooja Mehta wrote, “Looted a Dior bag from Gono Bhaban.”
Many on social media criticised the woman with one user saying ‘See her joy, like something achieved’.
Another user said: “Unfortunately they are not taught morals by either their mothers or religion.”
A third user termed her looting the bag as “Jackpot mila hai (she won a jackpot),” while another said “Price of bag is Rs 47,000 in Indian rupees.”
Protesters were seen eating fish and biryani, resting PM Hasina’s bed, stealing television sets, tables, chairs, vandalizing the building, carrying off goats, ducks and more.
Protesters were seen climbing on a large statue of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh’s founder and Sheikh Hasina’s father.
It is reported that Hasina landed at Hindon Airbase in India after fleeing the country.
The protests by students, began in late June demanding to end quota system for government jobs, turned violent over the weeks, leading to several deaths.
