Eleven-year-old racing prodigy Atiqa Mir capped off a landmark 2025 by emerging as India’s most successful karter on the international stage in her category.
The Mumbai-born driver delivered a standout season, competing against a strong, male-dominated global field and recording multiple career milestones.
Supported by the Formula 1 Academy, Atiqa achieved four pole positions, two final wins, six heat wins, six podium finishes, and eight fastest laps in the mini category.
Backed by the Akcel GP Academy, she showcased consistency and competitiveness across international circuits, establishing herself as one of the brightest young talents in motorsport.
Reflecting on her year, Atiqa said the season pushed her to her limits and helped her grow as a racer. “So much has happened, and I have tasted international success. I have also received great support from my fans here in India and abroad. My motivation is higher than ever tonight, and I can’t wait for the new season to start,” she said.
Atiqa’s long-term ambition is to reach Formula 1, a feat not achieved by a female racer in decades. It remains to be seen whether she will continue in the mini category or move up the racing ladder in 2026.
Her father, Asif Mir, India’s first national karting champion, expressed pride in her progress. “Atiqa has worked tirelessly throughout the year and has shown winning results. She has raced internationally against the world’s best and performed strongly,” he said.
He added that the coming year holds exciting possibilities and that her development will continue with the ultimate goal of reaching Formula 1.
