In a new brand campaign shared on Instagram, the Argentina captain presented a receipt-style graphic listing his international accomplishments as itemised entries. Goals, assists, minutes played and major honours feature on the mock bill, which concludes with a verdict declaring the long-running GOAT debate settled.
The receipt highlights Messi’s biggest triumphs with Argentina, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Copa America titles, Olympic gold and the Finalissima. It also points to the millions of supporters inspired by his career in Argentina's colours.
Messi’s international legacy was transformed after years of disappointment. He helped Argentina end a 28-year wait for a major trophy by winning the 2021 Copa America, before finally lifting the World Cup in Qatar in 2022. Argentina defeated France on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw, with Messi scoring twice and converting his penalty.
