New Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) captain and star batter Rishabh Pant is the latest among a list of players who have expressed their concerns over the contentious impact of player rule. DC, though, made back-to-back victories against Mumbai Indians on Saturday after defeating Gujarat Titans in the match before, had both team nearly chase their scores.
On Saturday, DC posted their highest-ever score in the IPL, 257 for 4. They defended the total, though Mumbai Indians' Tilak Varma posed a threat with his bat, scoring 63 off 32 balls.
"We were pretty happy with 250 on the board but with impact sub it is getting difficult each and every day," Pant said at post-match presentation ceremony.
Pant utilized paces Mukesh Kumar and Rasikh Dar to deal with MI batters in the death overs.
"Definitely, I can keep up to the stumps but the bowler also should be confident.... with batters like Tim David walking down, and today it worked," Pant said.
He praised Jake Fraser-McGurk, who turned a brutal whirlwind to contribute to DC with his bat. He had scored 82 off 24 balls, smashing 11 boundaries and six sixes.
"He has been amazing since the first day and this is what you want from a younger player, he's getting better and better with each game. The chances are increasing day by day, but we are taking it one game at a time," Pant lauded the Aussies batter.
