Mumbai: Following a disastrous campaign by Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians in this year's edition, team owner Nita Ambani expressed her disappointment. She, however, admitted that there is a need to rewind and review what had happened this year, NDTV reported.
The team, which is one of the two most successful teams in the tournament, finished their campaign in the tenth or last position in the points table. It only won 4 wins from 10 matches after Hardik Pandya made a homecoming to the team, where he debuted in IPL and took captaincy from Rohit.
Pandya, taking the captaincy of the franchise, continuously made headlines throughout the tournament. There was a reported rift between players after Pandya was made captain.
It was in a video shared by Mumbai Indians on social media that Nita expressed her disappointment with her team.

"Disappointing season for all of us. Things didn't go the way we wanted them to, but I'm still a huge Mumbai Indians fan. Not just an owner. I think wearing the Mumbai Indians jersey is a huge honour and a privilege, and to be associated with Mumbai Indians, for me, is an honour and a privilege. I think we will go back, review and think about it," Nita was heard saying.
However, she extended her best wishes to MI players Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, who all are included in the Indian squad for the ICC Men's T20I World Cup.
"To Rohit, Hardik, Surya (Suryakumar Yadav) and (Jasprit) Bumrah, I think all Indians are cheering for you. We wish you all the best," she said.
India's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign begins on June 5, and the Men-in-Blue will be playing in Ireland. However, on June 01, India will play Bangladesh in a warm-up match.
