Hyderabad: Australian pacer and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins shared his astonishment over the cheers MS Dhoni received when he came to bat on Friday evening. He was talking at the post-match ceremony at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium after their win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), IANS reported.
"The crowd was crazy tonight. When MS walked out, it was as loud as I've ever heard, but yes, we love playing here, and we made it two from two," Cummins said.
When Dhoni came to bat, only three balls were left in the final over, and Dhoni could score only a run off two deliveries. But Dhoni coming to bat was a moment of delight for the spectators.
For Pat Cummins, it was an excellent day at work after he dismissed well-settled and threatening Shivam Dube (45 off 24). Dube dismissal impacted CSK dearly in terms of their run-scoring. Cummins also gathered his 50th IPL wicket, taking Dube out.
"Different soil slowed up as the game went on. Still a fantastic game. We have got plenty of fast bowlers. Shivam was hitting the spinners. So we took a chance with the fast bowlers bowling cutters," said Pat Cummins in the post-match presentation.
Further, Cummins praised his team's opener, Abhishek Sharma, for his fantastic knock of 37 off 12, building a strong foundation for SRH in their chase. He said that he would never want to bowl Abhishek.
"I would not be wanting to be bowling to Abhishek Sharma. The crowd was crazy tonight, especially when MS walked out. We love playing here, at home conditions," Australia's ODI Men's World Cup-winning captain said.
