14 year old Bharath Subramaniyam from Tamil Nadu becomes India's 73rd Grandmaster

Bharath Subramanyam turned to be India's 73rd Grand master after successfully completing third and final GM norm at Vergani Open Cup in Italy.

Bharath Subrmayam fourteen year old became India's 73rd Chess GM after successfully completing GM Norm at Verenoi Open Cup in Italy. Bharath managed to score 6.5 points in nine rounds to finish seventh. Bharath also completed his third GM norm in the event as well as 2,500 (Elo) mark required.

The All India Chess Federation (AICF) website published a note to congratulate the achievement of the teenager and the note reads Fourteen year old Bharath Subramaniyam becomes the 73rd Grandmaster of the country after completing his final GM Norm and crossing the 2500 rating at Vergani Cup Open in Italy. All India Chess Federation congratulate Bharath for the achievement.
