Offbeat: In a video that went viral on social media, renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was seen mercilessly beating a man with his shoe. He was in total rage, and in one visual, he was being pulled away from another man. The person being beaten was seen pleading with him.
The video gathered flak from social media users.

However, after the video went viral, Khan appeared with a clarification, saying that the person being beaten was his disciple and he was punished for some mistake.
In the beating video, the Qawwali singer could be seen repeatedly hitting the other person with a shoe, asking him about some "bottle". Though the victim was pleading, saying that he had no idea about it, Khan continued his act with surging rage.
In the clarification video released later, Khan said that the incident was a personal matter between him and his student. In that video, Khan brought the student as well as his father for clarification.
He continued that the victim is like a son to him and that the relationship between a teacher and his student is like this.
He said that if the student does something good, it will appreciated with love, and if he makes a mistake, he will be punished. Khan also added that shortly after the incident, he apologized to the victim.
The victim also stated in the clarification video that he made a mistake misplacing a bottle of holy water but added that there were no ill intentions behind his actions. He said that Khan is like a father to him, and he loves students a lot. Whoever aired the slapping video is trying to defame his "ustad".
