Cow Vigilantism: HC asks the accused to surrender

Kochi:  The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed two persons from Kasaragod, accused of assaulting two Muslims ferrying cattle, to surrender before the police.

The court asked Ganesh CH( 26) and Rakesh SK(21) hailing from Dakshina Kannada to surrender before the Badiakda police.

They included a gang of nine, as per the prosecution case, had chased on June 24 a truck in which two Muslim were allegedly ferrying cows.

Armed with hockey sticks, knives and stones, they allegedly assaulted the two men before forcefully taking away the cattle and Rs. 50,000.
