Mumbai: NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar accused the AAIB and DGCA of a major cover-up in the January 28 Learjet crash that killed Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, presenting videos and screenshots at his third press conference on the probe.
He alleged the report protects VSR Aviation and powerful figures, riddled with errors like wrong banking direction (video shows left tilt, report says right), excess fuel (90-95% for short flight), and engine life exceeded by 3,000 hours.
Pawar mocked factual slips—calling Baramati a "district," Municipal Council a "corporation," and claiming tree hits amid only shrubs. No black box photos, omitted investigator names, and ignored pre-crash reconnaissance reports fuel conspiracy suspicions, he said.
"Is this 'save-the-guilty' program happening at the behest of a powerful individual? If so, the truth behind whether Ajit Dada’s death was an accident or a conspiracy will never surface " Pawar asked, questioning low-visibility flight against Tyagi Committee rules and false weather clearance by 'Aero' firm. He demanded CBI/CID probe, FIR against aviation officials, and full transparency.
