Pune: Puja Saket, a 19-year old dalit girl, who had named the culprits who burnt her house, was found dead in a well on Sunday. The family of the teen alleged that she was under a lot of pressure to withdraw her statement against the culprits.
The girl has been reported missing since Friday. The body was found in a well near the rehabilitation centre for the January 1 violence-hit villagers.
The family alleged that some persons, whom Puja had named as culprits in her statement to the police after the house was torched on January 1, were threatening her to withdraw the statement.
Local police have arrested two men, brothers Vilas and Ganesh Vedpathak, and booked seven others from Bhima Koregaon on Monday.
