Bury inner differences, PM is watching: Amit Shah warns BJP leaders

Mumbai: BJP president Amit Shah on Friday warned the party leaders in Maharashtra against not crossing swords between themselves and told that the calls taken by state party chief Devendra Fadnavis should be accepted as final, reports said.

Shah, who concluded his two-day visit in Mumbai on Friday, put across his strong message in a closed-door meeting with top BJP leaders of the state which will go to the polls in another few months.

The BJP president's words are being seen as an attempt to stop the factionalism in the state BJP. Opposition leaders in the legislative assembly and the legislative council, namely, Eknath Khadse and Vinod Tawde and many others have engaged in inner tussle, the report said.

Shah also said that issues in alliance with the Shiv Sena would matter when the state BJP puts up a united stand. He said Prime Minister Modi was keeping a close watch on developments in the poll-bound state and cautioned that there could not be any excuse when it comes to delivering good results in the polls, the report added.
