UAE expands visa-on-arrival, extended stay options for more Indian nationals

More Indian nationals can now benefit from the visa-on-arrival facility in the UAE, according to a recent announcement by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).

The updated policy allows Indian nationals holding tourist visas to the UK and European Union countries to obtain a visa-on-arrival in the UAE. Previously, this option was only available to those with residence or tourist visas for the United States or residency permits in the UK and EU.

Applicants must ensure that their visa and passport are valid for at least six months to qualify. Eligible Indian travellers can now also apply for a 60-day visa at a cost of Dh250.

In addition to the new eligibility criteria, the ICP has introduced an updated fee structure. A 14-day entry visa for Indian nationals, as well as their family members holding visas, residencies, or green cards from the US, UK, or EU countries, is now priced at Dh100. This visa can be extended for another 14 days for an additional fee of Dh250. The 60-day visa, now available to qualified applicants, also costs Dh250.

Maj-Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, director-general of the ICP, highlighted that expanding visa-on-arrival options for Indian nationals aligns with the UAE’s strategic partnership with India. He emphasized that the move reflects the leadership's commitment to strengthening economic and trade ties, attracting investments and talent and positioning the UAE as a leading global tourism and economic hub.
