Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan inaugurates 16th Al Ain Book Festival

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated the 16th Al Ain Book Festival under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region. The event, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) under the theme “All Eyes on Al Ain,” runs until November 30 at Al Ain Square and other key venues across the city.

During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed toured the festival site, reviewed cultural programs and new publications and met with authors and publishers to discuss developments in the book industry and the impact of digital transformation.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, said, “The patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, for Al Ain Book Festival 2025 reflects the Abu Dhabi leadership’s continued commitment to culture as a cornerstone of national development and community cohesion".

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of ALC, said the event promotes the Arabic language and supports young Emirati talent through literature, art and creative activities.

The festival features over 200 cultural, artistic and educational events with more than 220 participating publishers. The agenda includes Poetry Nights at Qasr Al Muwaiji, Flavourful Nights showcasing Emirati cuisine and an Educational Program offering activities for children, families and People of Determination.

The ALC will also announce the winners of the Kanz Al Jeel Award, recognising literary achievements that enrich the UAE’s cultural scene.
