Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanon has been severely impacted, with airstrikes claiming over 1,000 lives since September 17. The violence has forced up to a million people to flee their homes, resulting in widespread displacement.
In response, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered an urgent relief aid package worth $100 million to support the Lebanese people. The UAE has also been sending aircraft loaded with medical supplies, food, shelter equipment and other relief materials to Lebanon. Additionally, the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Affairs Council has launched a campaign titled 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' to further assist those in need.
Several local organizations are offering UAE residents an opportunity to contribute to the relief efforts through donations. Here are the key platforms available for support:
The Emirates Red Crescent is running the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign from October 8 to 21, in collaboration with various humanitarian organizations. Residents can make in-kind or cash donations to support Lebanon.
A collection and packing campaign will take place at the following locations:
- Dubai: Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, on Saturday, October 12, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
- Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal (Terminal 1), on Sunday, October 13, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Residents can also donate via the Emirates Red Crescent’s bank accounts, website or smart applications. The campaign is listed under the title 'Relieving Lebanon'.

Careem and Allo Beirut
Careem has teamed up with Allo Beirut, a popular street food joint, to launch the 'Together for Lebanon' initiative. For every order placed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Dh10 will be donated to Lebanon. Both platforms are working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to ensure essential aid reaches those affected.
UNICEF Gulf
UNICEF Gulf has made an urgent appeal for donations to assist children in Lebanon. Residents can contribute via UNICEF's website, with options for one-time or monthly donations.
- One-time donations: Dh370, Dh730, Dh1,100, or an amount of choice.
- Monthly donations: Dh37, Dh92, Dh180, or an amount of choice.
Funds will be used to deliver medical aid, provide clean water, nutritional support, and essential supplies for displaced families.
The Big Heart Foundation
The Big Heart Foundation, which has been aiding Lebanon since 2020, continues its efforts through the Lebanon Fund. The foundation focuses on health, education, and emergency aid services for vulnerable families.
Residents can donate via the foundation’s website, SMS, WhatsApp, or bank transfer, with options for Dh50, Dh100, Dh200, or Dh500 contributions.
