Dubai to launch recreational vehicle network for nature road trips

Dubai Municipality has announced the launch of the region’s first integrated recreational vehicle (RV) route, introducing a new model of nature-based tourism in Dubai.

The initiative will establish a single network of dedicated RV stations, serviced parks, and connected road trip experiences. The route is designed to be easily accessible and aims to reinforce Dubai’s position as a regional destination for RV tourism while offering new outdoor experiences for residents and visitors.

Dubai Municipality will develop the core infrastructure and issue the regulatory framework that allows private-sector developers and operators to build, manage and operate RV routes and dedicated parks across the emirate. The model is intended to create new investment opportunities, diversify tourism offerings and support the development of an RV tourism ecosystem.

The RV route will span mountain, beach, and desert landscapes, connecting these environments through a unified network of dedicated stops and parks. The network is intended to offer adventure, nature-based activities and cultural experiences within serviced outdoor destinations.

Bader Anwahi, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the launch reflects the authority’s focus on sustainable tourism models that enhance quality of life and create economic opportunities. He said the regulatory and infrastructure framework will enable private-sector participation while offering residents and visitors new ways to experience Dubai’s natural environments through family-oriented destinations.

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s quality-of-life objectives and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The RV route and associated parks will operate as year-round, family-friendly destinations and will integrate hospitality, dining, wellness and recreational facilities for visitors of all ages and abilities.

To support industry growth, the initiative includes incentives, subsidies, and reduced land costs for developers and operators. Dubai Municipality will also work with financial institutions to provide flexible payment solutions supporting RV ownership, rentals and industry expansion.

The RV route and parks will be promoted through regional and international marketing campaigns in coordination with tour operators and private-sector partners. The initiative aims to encourage RV travel, attract manufacturers and service providers and position Dubai as a regional hub for RV tourism.

The network is designed to support connected road-trip journeys that allow families to explore Dubai’s natural destinations. Facilities and programming are planned to ensure year-round accessibility, comfort and safety for all age groups.

Dubai Municipality has invited investors, tour operators, RV park operators and private-sector partners to participate in developing and operating the RV tourism network. The project is positioned as a long-term platform supporting tourism, investment and community wellbeing.
