Dubai’s taxi drivers will soon have access to new rest areas and dedicated parking spaces under an agreement signed between Parkin Company PJSC and Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) at Gitex Global 2025.
Parkin, Dubai’s largest provider of paid public parking, will reserve parking spots for taxis in busy areas, especially near events and exhibitions. The plan also includes designated rest zones within these parking areas to improve driver comfort and well-being.
Officials said the initiative aligns with Dubai’s wider efforts to support transport workers. In July, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) introduced 15 new air-conditioned rest areas for delivery riders at key bus and metro stations. The RTA had earlier installed 40 permanent facilities across the emirate.
Both Parkin and DTC said the move aims to improve convenience for both drivers and passengers through better facilities and services.
