Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan announces Agentic AI drive to transform private sector

Dubai has launched a new initiative to transition its private sector towards self-executing and self-leading artificial intelligence, known as Agentic AI, under directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, announced the move as part of a two-year programme aimed at accelerating the adoption of advanced AI technologies across businesses.

The plan includes specialised training tracks for all business councils affiliated with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, along with the establishment of incubators for Agentic AI companies and dedicated funds to support the shift.

“Our goal is for Dubai to become the world’s leading city in adopting these technologies economically and commercially, giving us a new competitive edge for the future", Sheikh Hamdan said.

Agentic AI will transform the private sector into self-innovating systems that improve productivity, reduce costs and expand business operations.

Dubai Chambers will implement the program by launching training initiatives, setting up incubators and creating funding mechanisms to support startups and entrepreneurs in the AI sector. The effort is also designed to create new economic opportunities for young people.

Officials said the initiative aligns with Dubai’s broader strategy to position itself as a global hub for advanced technologies. Digital transformation remains a core pillar of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), supported by projects such as DubaiNow, the Dubai Metaverse Strategy and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence.

Authorities said Dubai’s approach includes close coordination with the private sector through business councils and regulatory support aimed at reducing costs, opening new markets and strengthening the emirate’s role as a base for technology investment.

Industry leaders said the transition to Agentic AI would enable companies to adopt autonomous systems that improve efficiency and operational performance while also supporting the development of new business models and investment in young talent.
