Dubai has confirmed the Eid Al Fitr break for public sector employees.
According to a statement from the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, government staff in the emirate will be off from Thursday, March 19, until Sunday, March 22. Official duties will resume on Monday, March 23.
The start of Eid will depend on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent, which is scheduled to take place after Maghrib prayer on Wednesday, March 18, in line with the Islamic lunar calendar.
At the federal level, authorities had earlier announced that employees in federal government entities will observe the same four-day break from March 19 to 22, with work resuming on March 23.
Private sector employees across the UAE will have leave from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21. Those whose regular work schedule includes Sunday will return on March 22.
Officials said that if Ramadan completes 30 days, the private sector holiday will be extended to include Sunday, March 22. The arrangements follow established public and private sector holiday guidelines in the country.
