Saudi launches new Umrah program to boost pilgrim experience

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced the Direct Umrah Program, enabling companies to serve pilgrims directly without intermediaries, ensuring high-quality standards. This initiative aims to elevate the pilgrim experience through visits to historical sites linked to the life of the Prophet and promoting the Kingdom’s attractions.

The program is designed to support service providers, encouraging them to adopt professional destination management and trip organization strategies. In 2023, 13.5 million pilgrims were recorded and the new program seeks to further enhance this experience. The ministry, in collaboration with the Pilgrim Experience Program, part of Saudi Vision 2030, organized the second Umrah organizations’ gathering in Makkah, led by Hajj and Umrah Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.

This meeting aligns with the ministry’s strategy to enhance the Umrah experience and empower the private sector to provide year-round services. It also focuses on streamlining procedures, enforcing compliance standards and addressing challenges to improve service quality.

The gathering also introduced new tools and performance indicators for companies while discussing strategic directions for the Umrah season and launching innovative services. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah remains committed to improving services and welcoming more pilgrims each year as part of Saudi Vision 2030, ensuring a rich and unique faith journey for all.
