Riyadh to host traditional arts festival, celebrate regional heritage

The Saudi Ministry of Culture has launched the Traditional Arts Festival in Riyadh, bringing together performing arts from across the Kingdom.

Running from March 26 to April 8, the event presents regional performances in a dedicated arena designed to reflect the country’s cultural diversity.

Organisers said the festival is intended to support creative talent and reinforce cultural identity through public engagement with heritage arts.

The program includes evenings dedicated to Nabati poetry and workshops offering practical instruction in traditional art forms. Participants are given the opportunity to learn basic techniques through guided sessions.

A live production titled “The Story of the Sea” is also part of the lineup. The performance recreates elements of coastal life and features traditional sea shanties historically used by sailors.
