Six Flags Qiddiya City will open to visitors on December 31, introducing the first theme park within the Qiddiya City development near Riyadh. The park will begin operations at 4:00 PM on New Year’s Eve.
Located about 45 kilometres from central Riyadh along the Tuwaiq Mountains, the park covers an area of 320,000 square metres. It is the first Six Flags park to operate outside North America.
The park includes 28 rides and attractions spread across six themed areas. These include The Citadel, which serves as the main gathering space with a canopy inspired by Bedouin tents; City of Thrills, which hosts high-intensity rides; Discovery Springs, featuring water attractions and waterfalls; Steam Town, centred on industrial-themed rides; Twilight Gardens, designed for children and families; and Valley of Fortune, which focuses on exploration and adventure.
Six Flags Qiddiya City can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors per day and expects to receive more than 2 million guests during its first year. More than 1,200 employees will operate the park, with Saudi nationals forming the majority of the workforce. Over 80 percent of waste generated at the park will be recycled.

The park includes five rides that hold world records. Falcon’s Flight is listed as the world’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster, reaching speeds of 250 kilometres per hour, rising to 195 metres and extending across four kilometres.
Other rides include Sirocco Tower, the tallest free-standing shot tower at 145 metres; Gyrospin, the highest pendulum ride; Spitfire, the tallest inverted top-hat coaster; and Iron Rattler, the tallest tilted coaster at 63.4 metres.
