Riyadh: ‘FutureX 2025’ Science Expo showcases 120 student projects, awards young innovators

The International Indian Professionals Association (IIPA), in collaboration with Yara International School, organized the interschool science exhibition ‘FutureX 2025’. The event drew more than 600 registrations and showcased over 120 student projects across three categories: Junior, Middle and Senior.

Schools across Riyadh participated in the expo with projects addressing practical challenges. Among the exhibits were AI-enabled mobility canes, bionic arms, gas leakage detection systems and waste management solutions.

The program opened with the national anthems of Saudi Arabia and India, followed by a welcome from Mr. Mujahid Ali. Sessions included ‘Who Am I? Exploring Personality’ by Mr. Kaleem Syed, a panel discussion on ‘Technology, Innovation and the Future of Education’ with Er. Farhan Hashmi, Mr. Furqan Ahmed and Prof. Farooq Adil, moderated by Mrs. Juwaria. The events also included ‘Unlocking the Student Superpower’ by Mrs. Sushma Shan.

In his address, Er. Hashmi emphasized the importance of integrating coaching and neuro-linguistic programming in an AI-driven future to build creativity, resilience and a sense of purpose. Dr. Shafeeq Ahmed, in his presidential remarks, called for science to serve humanity and unity.

The awards segment recognized both students and mentors. In the junior category, Umaima and Inaya from MMEIS School were awarded for their gas leakage alarm system. Aaira Falak of Alif School won the middle category with a waste management solution and in the senior category, Nafeesa Khan from Al Yasmeen School was recognized for her project Navi Axis.

Mrs. Aasima, Principal of Yara International School, described the expo as one of the institution’s most successful educational events, noting the strong quality of projects and speakers. Sponsored by Dar Al Bariz Group and Synem Technologies, the event concluded with recognition of schools and mentors for their contributions.
