Conjoined twins from Pakistan arrived in Riyadh on Monday to undergo medical assessment for a possible separation surgery, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Sufyan and Yusuf were transferred from King Khalid International Airport to King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital, part of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, where doctors will evaluate their condition.
Their travel to the Kingdom was arranged under directives from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to SPA, the twins’ family expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership and people for receiving them and facilitating their case.
Dr Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, who heads the medical and surgical team of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, also thanked the leadership for the initiative. SPA said the program’s record in separation procedures has positioned the Kingdom as a destination for families seeking such specialised treatment.
