Pravasi Parichay 2025 begins in Riyadh, celebrates Indian culture

The Embassy of India in Riyadh opened the third edition of Pravasi Parichay, a week-long cultural festival celebrating India’s heritage and the contributions of the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia.

The event, which runs from October 28 to November 3, features state-themed cultural showcases including classical dance, folk performances, music and regional cuisines. Launched in 2023 with support from Indian community organizations, the festival aims to promote India’s cultural diversity and strengthen ties with the diaspora.

The opening night featured a Bollywood Musical Night, where singers from the Indian community performed a mix of classic and contemporary film songs. The performances drew strong applause from the audience and highlighted the musical talent within the diaspora.

Alongside the concert, the “Viksit Bharat Art Exhibition” presented more than 20 paintings by women artists from the Indian community, focusing on themes of creativity and diversity.

Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan commended the community’s continued involvement in the festival. He said Pravasi Parichay reflects the depth of India’s cultural expression while reinforcing the bond between the Embassy and the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia.

The festival coincides with India’s National Unity Day on October 31.
