Makkah hosts cybersecurity awareness exhibit ahead of Hajj

The National Cybersecurity Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, has launched a cybersecurity awareness exhibition in Makkah, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday. The event, which spans four days, is designed to strengthen cybersecurity knowledge using engaging and interactive approaches.

Deputy Assistant Minister of the Interior for Technology Affairs, Thamer Al-Harbi, was present at the event, emphasizing its significance in reinforcing national security. This initiative is particularly directed at employees from government agencies involved in this year's Hajj season, aiming to educate them on the critical aspects of cybersecurity.

Attendees have the opportunity to explore various facets of cybersecurity, understand its impact at the national level and engage in live simulations that demonstrate how cyberattacks can compromise individuals and organizations. The exhibition also offers hands-on experiences to learn about safe online practices and provides expert consultations. Additionally, it delivers valuable advice on how to recognize and avoid falling prey to electronic phishing schemes.
