UAE weather: yellow alert for rain; speed limits reduced for safety

Abu Dhabi: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a yellow warning for rain and convective clouds. The weather department also cautioned against dust brought by winds expected to blow until 7.30 pm today.

Earlier, a yellow alert was issued from 4 am to 8.30 am for fog formation and a drop in horizontal visibility in some areas.

Abu Dhabi Police has advised motorists to exercise caution and adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic boards.

Today's weather will be fair to partly cloudy and hazy at times. Temperatures in Abu Dhabi will range between 29℃ and 43℃, and in Dubai between 30℃ and 42℃. Low clouds will appear over the East Coast by morning, with possible convective clouds forming towards the east by afternoon.

The weather will be humid by night and Tuesday morning, with a chance of fog or mist formation over some coastal areas.

Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, are expected. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea by Tuesday morning.
