New Horizon School observed India’s 77th Republic Day on January 25, 2026. Programs were held at its Zinj and Segaya campuses with participation from students and staff.
The event was organised by the Social Studies Department under the supervision of Gladis Sheejo. This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Vande Mataram” and military defence.
The program began with a march past by students, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Chairman Joy Mathews, Principal Vandana Sateesh and Junior Principal Nirmala Angelose. The Preamble of the Constitution was read during the ceremony.
Students presented a song based on “Vande Mataram” and a dance performance highlighting themes of patriotism and national pride. Addressing the gathering, Mathews spoke on the responsibilities of young citizens in contributing to a united nation.
The school said the program highlighted the significance of Republic Day and the sacrifices of the country’s defence forces.
The occasion also included recognition of a student achievement. Riya Dawane of Class V was selected among the best performers in singing at the ‘Vande Mataram Competition’ organised by the Government of India. She was invited to attend the Republic Day Parade 2026 at Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
School officials said the selection brought pride to the New Horizon School community.
