New Delhi: A wild elephant killed a labourer in Maharashtra’ Gadchiroli on Thursday as he tried to take a selfie with the animal, NDTV reported.
Srikant Ramchandra Satre and his two friends went to the Abapur forest here to see the elephant roaming in the area.
Two men had a narrow escape while Shrikant was trampled to death by the animal.
The 23-year-old, who had come to Navegaon with friends, was engaged in cable laying work in Gadchiroli district.
It was reported no Tuesday that a wild elephant had come out of the Chittagong and Gadchiroli forest and was roaming in the Abapur forest of the Mutnur forest area.
Shrikant and his two friends, who were in the area for work, decided to go for elephant viewing.
Srikant decided to take a selfie with the elephant from a distance. But the elephant attacked and crushed him.
The two friends managed to escape.
