Kollam: A police official has been booked for allegedly molesting a woman colleague while on duty at the Nendakara Coastal Police Station in Kollam.
The case was registered against Senior Civil Police Officer Navas at the Chavara police station, following a complaint from the woman officer.
According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours of November 6, when the woman officer was walking towards the restroom. Navas, who was on deputation at the Coastal Police Station and standing near the men’s restroom, allegedly molested her and made abusive comments.
The woman officer immediately left the area and reported the matter to her senior officer. The complaint was subsequently forwarded to the Kollam City Police Commissioner, who directed that a case be registered under provisions for outraging the modesty of a woman.
An internal inquiry has been ordered, and disciplinary action is expected to follow.
