POCSO court summons actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's ex-wife in molestation case

Muzaffarnagar: A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday issued a notice to actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's former wife and film producer Aliya Siddiqui asking her to appear before the court on October 7 in connection with a molestation case filed by her.

According to the prosecution, Nawazuddin's brother Minazuddin had allegedly molested a minor family member in 2012 while his family, including the actor, had supported him.

Judge of the POCSO court, Ritesh Sachdeva asked the complainant Aliya to appear in the court for a reply after police filed a final report in the case against all accused.

Government counsel Pradeep Balyan said that after investigation, police have given a clean chit to the actor, his mother Mehrunisa, and his brothers Fezuddin, Ayazuddin, and Minazuddin in the case.

An FIR was registered in Mumbai by Aliya and later shifted to Budhana police station in 2020.
