Thiruvananthapuram: Ex-MLA from Kerala's Poonjar, PC George, alleged that state Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is relentlessly hunting him. On Thursday, a Crime Branch team raided George's residence, IANS reported.
In the recent past, Kerala Police have arrested the leader twice.
Crime Branch had searched George's house in search of evidence against his son Shaun George, who is an elected local body member in the Kottayam district. There was a complaint that Shaun has been involved among those who made an effort to grant clean chit to actor Dileep, an accused in the actor assault case of 2017.
George said, "The police were trying to see if I had kept any evidence against Vijayan here. When they did not find anything, they were wanting to take my grandson's tab also," furiously.
He added, "This is nothing but political witch hunting as Shaun had lodged a police complaint three years back about a lost mobile phone, and it's the phone they want. I will submit all the evidence of Vijayan's smuggling case to the court and will not be cowed down by these raids."
PC George got arrested twice in recent months in two different cases but secured instant bail on both. There has been a feud running between Prinarayi Vijayan and George for a while, and the latter never seized opportunities to take on the former, IANS reported.
George, known for his razor-sharp tongue, runs his own party- Kerala Janapaksham' (Secular), and at the moment, his party is not on any of the political fronts but has slight leanings toward the BJP-led NDA.
