Assembly rejects Opposition’s motion to recall Governor

Thiruvananthapuram: The Assembly on Monday rejected Opposition leader Chennithala’s move to recall Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.

The ‘substantive motion’ by  Chennithala  was an reaction to the governor’s opposition to the Assembly’s unanimous resolution for scrapping CAA.

In the voting that came after an hour-long debate the ruling front benches cast 74 ballots against the motion while the Opposition polled 36 votes in favour.

Later Chennithala said that Chief Minister had rolled out the red carpet for the Governor who had publicly belittled his government.
